Towards a Happier Campus

Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi, officially launched the Happiness Club with an inaugural programme on 20 July 2026 at Mata Gujri Hall, marking the beginning of a dedicated initiative to promote mental well-being, emotional resilience, and a culture of positivity among students.

The inaugural event featured an inspiring keynote lecture titled "Beyond the Monkey Mind: From Inner Emptiness to Inner Happiness", delivered by Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi, Founder of the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness. Through his engaging address, Dr. Rekhi encouraged participants to cultivate self-awareness, mindfulness, and inner happiness by understanding and managing the restless nature of the mind. The programme was honoured by the presence of Prof. Rupam Kapoor, Department of Botany, University of Delhi, as the Distinguished Guest.

As part of the Club's official launch, two student-centric wellness initiatives were also introduced. The Self-Assessment Wellness Kiosk enables students to confidentially assess their happiness and anxiety levels through scientifically designed digital questionnaires, encouraging greater self-awareness and early recognition of emotional well-being. Complementing this initiative, a Gratitude Reflection Wall invited students to share messages of gratitude, appreciation, and positive reflections, fostering a sense of optimism, connection, and community.

The launch of the Happiness Club reflects the College's commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive campus where students are encouraged to prioritise their mental and emotional well-being alongside academic excellence. The enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members made the inaugural event a meaningful beginning to a series of initiatives dedicated to nurturing happier, healthier, and more resilient individuals.
