SOL

SOL

The School of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi, provides a vital alternative to conventional full-time education, enabling students to pursue degree programmes through the open and distance learning mode. To support this initiative, Mata Sundri College for Women functions as a dedicated SOL Centre, offering academic and administrative assistance to a large number of women students enrolled in SOL’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The centre ensures that students receive structured academic support while enjoying the flexibility to learn at their own pace. Key services include the distribution of study materials, coordination of Personal Contact Programme (PCP) classes, internal assessments, examinations, and academic counselling. These services are crucial in providing learners with a sense of continuity and institutional support, even outside the formal classroom setting.

To help students engage effectively with their courses, faculty from the college and university conduct lectures, revision sessions, and doubt-clearing classes on weekends and holidays. This academic guidance is supported by access to classrooms, library facilities, and other essential infrastructure provided by the college. The SOL Centre also plays a role in creating awareness about examination schedules, re-evaluation procedures, and administrative requirements.

Through its work, the SOL Centre at Mata Sundri College contributes meaningfully to democratizing education by reaching out to students who may be balancing jobs, family responsibilities, or other commitments. It reflects the college’s broader vision of promoting inclusive, accessible, and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
