Celebrating Freedom, Unity and National Pride

Mata Sundri College for Women celebrated Independence Day on 14 August 2026 with great pride, enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The celebration brought together students, faculty members and staff to commemorate the spirit of freedom, unity and national pride.

The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the respected Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur. The flag-hoisting ceremony was followed by a vibrant march led by the Principal Ma’am, along with NSS Programme Officer Dr. Avneet Kaur, NSS Member Dr. Harvinder Kaur, and Sports Teacher Dr. Ranjit Kaur.

The march witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, Sports volunteers, students and staff members. The participants marched with discipline, energy and enthusiasm, reflecting the values of unity, teamwork, patriotism and commitment towards the nation.

The active involvement of the NSS Unit and Sports Department added vibrancy to the celebrations. The march served as a meaningful expression of national pride and reinforced the importance of collective participation in upholding the values of freedom and democracy.

The Independence Day celebration was a memorable occasion that brought the college community together in a spirit of patriotism, unity and togetherness. The event concluded with a renewed sense of pride in the nation and a shared resolve to uphold the values and ideals of our country.
