Aarogyam

Aarogyam is the dedicated Well-Being and Mental Health Cell of Mata Sundri College for Women, initiated under the guidance of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Functioning in close collaboration with the Department of Psychology and the PB&J Club (Psychology Books & Journal Club), Aarogyam promotes a holistic understanding of mental wellness within the academic space.
The cell aims to foster emotional resilience, self-awareness, and community care by organising a range of activities throughout the academic year. One of its key initiatives is Mental Health Week, observed annually from October 4 to 10, during which a variety of interactive sessions, expert talks, peer support activities, and awareness campaigns are conducted. These events encourage open conversations around mental health and address issues such as anxiety, stress, and emotional well-being in a safe and inclusive environment.
Aarogyam also works collaboratively with other departments, such as the Department of Statistics, to host interdisciplinary wellness seminars—like the October 2023 session on “Liver Disease & You”—thereby promoting physical and mental health awareness simultaneously.
Through its consistent efforts, Aarogyam seeks to integrate psychological support into the everyday lives of students. It creates a nurturing space that acknowledges mental health as vital to academic and personal success. By encouraging informed dialogue, peer interaction, and access to expert guidance, the cell plays a vital role in shaping a compassionate and mentally healthy campus community.
