The Equal Opportunity Cell

The Equal Opportunity Cell

The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) at Mata Sundri College for Women is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and supportive academic environment for all students, especially those from persons with disabilities, minority communities, economically weaker sections, and other marginalized groups. Established in accordance with UGC guidelines, the EOC works to ensure fair access to academic programs, extracurricular activities, and institutional resources, thereby promoting diversity and equality across the campus.

Functioning alongside specialized units like the SC/ST Cell, the EOC focuses primarily on the needs of persons with disabilities (PWD), minorities, and students requiring additional assistance. The cell provides counselling, advocacy, and practical support to facilitate their academic journey. This includes securing accessible infrastructure, examination accommodations, and facilitating the use of assistive technologies, helping students overcome barriers that may hinder their progress.

The EOC regularly organizes awareness workshops, sensitization sessions, and orientation programmes for students, faculty, and staff. These initiatives aim to cultivate empathy, promote understanding of disability rights and minority concerns, and foster a campus culture that values inclusion. By educating the college community about the challenges faced by marginalized groups, the cell works to eliminate stigma and foster solidarity.

Additionally, the cell actively collaborates with various governmental and non-governmental organizations to ensure that students have access to scholarships, financial aid, and other welfare schemes. Through its dedicated efforts, the Equal Opportunity Cell plays a vital role in ensuring that every student at Mata Sundri College for Women can pursue their education confidently, with dignity and equal opportunity.
