North East Welfare Cell

North East Welfare Cell

The North East Welfare Cell of Mata Sundri College for Women is a dedicated initiative committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and secure campus environment for students hailing from the North Eastern states of India. Established under the directive of the University of Delhi, the Cell actively works to safeguard the rights and dignity of North East students and ensures their seamless integration into the social and academic fabric of the college. At the heart of its mission is the prevention of racial discrimination, cultural alienation, and any form of harassment.

The Cell operates as a vigilant support system, offering 24×7 access to nodal officers and helpline numbers for immediate assistance and grievance redressal. Regular awareness programmes, workshops, and interactive sessions are conducted to sensitize the college community about the unique cultural, linguistic, and socio-political contexts of the North East, fostering mutual understanding and empathy.

In addition, the Cell organizes cultural events, exhibitions, and film screenings that celebrate the rich heritage, languages, and traditions of the North Eastern states, thereby strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity. It also provides guidance regarding academic support, accommodation issues, and local resources, ensuring that students from the region feel heard, represented, and empowered.

The North East Welfare Cell stands as a testament to the college’s commitment to equity, inclusivity, and human dignity—creating a campus culture where every student feels at home.
