The SC/ST Cell

The SC/ST Cell at Mata Sundri College for Women is devoted to promoting the welfare, empowerment, and academic success of students from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Established following University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines and University of Delhi directives, the cell serves as a crucial support system, ensuring that the rights of SC/ST students are protected fairly and effectively.
The cell plays a vital role in implementing reservation policies and facilitating access to scholarships, financial aid, and various government welfare schemes designed to uplift these communities. It assists students in navigating administrative procedures and helps make these opportunities more accessible and understandable. Beyond administrative help, the SC/ST Cell actively strives to foster an inclusive and discrimination-free campus atmosphere. It addresses complaints related to caste-based discrimination or harassment promptly and with sensitivity, ensuring that students feel secure and supported at all times.
The cell also organizes awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars, and sensitization programs aimed at educating the college community about social justice, equality, and affirmative action policies. Moreover, the cell encourages the academic and personal development of SC/ST students by offering counselling services, mentoring, and a platform for open dialogue. This creates a supportive space where students can share concerns, exchange ideas, and build mutual respect and harmony within the college.
Through its ongoing commitment and dedicated efforts, the SC/ST Cell empowers marginalized students to achieve their fullest potential, contribute meaningfully to society, and uphold the college’s mission of social equity and justice.
