This event will welcome the new members of session 2026-27, particularly the first years, but also students from other years who have joined in Asmita - Women Development Cell Orientation of Mata Sundri College for Women. They will be introduced to the work done by Asmita in past years, with the new student's union members, creative & social media heads, and the faculty convenor, co-convenor and members.

Event Report

The Women Development Cell (WDC), Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi, organised an Orientation Programme on 22 August 2026 to familiarise students with the objectives, functioning and activities of the Cell. The programme focused on women’s empowerment, gender equality, gender sensitisation, safety, dignity and equal opportunities. Students were encouraged to actively participate in the WDC’s forthcoming workshops, awareness programmes, discussions and other initiatives. The orientation highlighted the importance of challenging gender stereotypes, promoting mutual respect and creating a safe and inclusive campus environment. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ruchika Sharma, Convenor, and Dr. Shivangi Naithani Devi, Co-Convenor, with the support of Ms. Harsimran Kaur, Dr. Harwinder Kaur and Dr. Avneet Kaur, Members, and Ms. Gurleen Kaur, President of the Committee. The programme successfully encouraged student engagement and reaffirmed the WDC’s commitment to promoting an equitable, inclusive and empowering educational environment.
