The Department of Punjabi, Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi, successfully organized a movie screening of "Uda Aida" on 16th October 2025. The event aimed to emphasize the importance of embracing and promoting Punjabi mother tongue.

The aim of the event was to:

Highlight the significance of speaking in Punjabi mother tongue and its role in preserving cultural identity.

Encourage students to take pride in their linguistic heritage and cultural roots.

Provide a platform for students to appreciate and analyze Punjabi cinema and its role in promoting cultural awareness.

Foster a sense of community and cultural awareness among students.

At the end of the event, a feedback cum attendance form was floated among the attendees. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many students stating that the event was "amazing" and that it provided them with a unique opportunity to engage with Punjabi cinema and reflect on the importance of their mother tongue. The feedback forms helped the organizers gauge the success of the event and gather suggestions for future improvements.
