On March 19, 2024, the Department of Environmental Studies, in collaboration with the Swachh Core Team, organized the inauguration of vending machines, sanitary napkins, and incinerators at Mata Sundri College for Women. The initiative was undertaken in association with BSES Yamuna Power Limited (CSR) and HLL Lifecare Limited, aiming to promote menstrual hygiene, accessibility, and sustainable waste management within the campus.

Event Report

The Department of Environmental Studies, in collaboration with the Swachh Core Team and organizations BSES Yamuna Power Limited and HLL Lifecare Limited, organized the inauguration of 20 sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators at Mata Sundri College for Women on March 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm. The event, held in Mata Gujri Hall , was convened by Dr. Kavita Singh. The initiative was taken to promote menstrual hygiene by providing easy access to hygiene products for adolescent girls and women. Principal Prof. Harpreet Kaur thanked the organizations for their support and officially inaugurated the machines, which are now functional in the college. Dignitaries from the collaborating organizations explained the importance of using the incinerators for proper disposal of sanitary napkins and demonstrated how to operate them. The event also included a short video on menstrual awareness and hygienic practices.
