The department also organized an Inter-Department Chess Tournament was held on 4^th February, 2026, to promote strategic thinking and intellectual engagement. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from students demonstrating analytical skills, patience,  and tactical planning. The event provided a platform for students to display their mental agility while fostering healthy academic competition.

The championship was inaugurated in a grand manner with the esteemed presence of the Principal and the Sports Board Member, whose presence added prestige and dignity to the event. The distinguished guests were cordially welcomed by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and were honored with green planters as a gesture of gratitude for their constant support and encouragement in promoting sports and the overall development of students.

During the inaugural ceremony, the Principal delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the significance of sports in building discipline, nurturing leadership abilities, and maintaining physical well-being among students. The Sports Board Member also shared encouraging words and praised the participants for their dedication, zeal, and commendable sporting spirit.
