Event Report
The Invictus Commerce Society and the Department of Commerce at Mata Sundri College for Women organized a live lecture on the "Scope of Studying in Canada for Indian Students" on November 27, 2021. The lecture was conducted on Zoom and had over 180 students in attendance. The lecture's goal was to inform students about the opportunities for studying in Canada and provide knowledge about different colleges and universities. Dr. Ishpreet Virdi and Ms. Manjot Kaur were the convenor and co-convenor of the event, respectively. The speaker, Dr. Maina Chawla Singh, is a professor-mentor, author, and former faculty member at Georgetown and other American universities. She explained how Canada's geographic, demographic, and economic conditions affect its immigration and education policies, noting that its flexible immigration policy is due to a need for more people to work there. The lecture concluded with a question-and-answer session to address student queries. The program was a success and achieved its goal of making students aware of the scope and complexities of studying in Canada
