The Department of Mathematics at Mata Sundri College for Women celebrated Pi Day with a special screening of the inspirational film “Hidden Figures” on 14th March 2024 in the esteemed Mata Gujri Hall. The event commenced in an atmosphere of eager anticipation, bringing together students and faculty to honor the mathematical constant π while also paying tribute to the extraordinary contributions of African-American women mathematicians at NASA. The film highlighted themes of perseverance, intellect, and equality, leaving the audience both moved and inspired.

The Department of Mathematics at Mata Sundri College for Women celebrated Pi Day on March 14, 2024, by screening the movie "Hidden Figures" in Mata Gujri Hall. The event was held to honor the mathematical constant π and pay homage to the achievements of African-American female mathematicians at NASA. Around 60 students attended the screening. The movie depicts the lives of three remarkable Black women working at NASA during the 1961 era and showcases their brilliance in mathematics despite pervasive racism and discrimination. A quiz was also held after the movie screening, and three students—Prerna, Ritika, and Nikita—emerged as winners. The event was considered a success, as it highlighted the contributions of African-American women in STEM and inspired a new generation.
