With a mission to instill a solid grounding in computing, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities, the department trains students with both theoretical and technical expertise that is necessary in the modern digital age. The department provides undergraduate degree programs like B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science, B.Sc. Physical Sciences with Computer Science, and B.A. Programme with Computer Applications. They are made to match the fast-changing nature of the IT sector and incorporate fundamental concepts along with rising fields of study such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Software Engineering. The faculty is well-qualified and actively participates in research and sharing of knowledge through seminars, workshops, and collaborative academic work. There is a peer-mentoring culture that facilitates the more senior students to guide the juniors both academically and socially. There is also a research-based department that encourages students to initiate innovative projects and small research assignments at early levels.
