For all round development and to inculcate professionalism in the students of department of commerce, Invictus organised various events during academic session 2018-19.
On 3 October 2019, Invictus, The commerce society of Mata Sundri college organized the departmental event. The theme of the Event was “Corporate Diva- the self made icon". The event was witnessed by over 450+ students and the special guests of the event were Dr. Amit Chaturvedi Sir (regional director of IGNU)and Mr. DP Singh. The event was commenced by the powering words of the principal Dr Harpreet Kaur ma’am .
Invited interactive talk, Technophelia, was held on 7th September, 2018 at Mata Sahib Kaur Auditorium. Prof. RK Singh, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics provided the students with the insights into Information Technology, how it has mechanized our lives and has depleted our productivity He shared the practicalities of ‘Age Effects of Technology’ and introduced students with ‘Techno- optimist and Techno- pessimist’.
Industrial trip was organised on 29th October 2018 to Parle Factory situated at Bahadurgarh. The factory in-charge led a guided tour of the factory. Major emphasis was given to the packaging, importance of sanitation, clean environment and CSR.
On 20th September, 2018; Women with a Plan, an event which comprised of Business games, quiz, case study and business plan; was organised at Mata Gujri Hall. Different rounds included Logo Lark, on logos and taglines of different companies; Luck by Chance, Case studies round and Credit Crunchers, Business plans round. The winners were Gifty and Tarun from B.Com. (Prog) first year.
Commfare was held on September 7, 2018 at Mata Sahib Kaur Auditorium to welcome and orient the new entrants to the Commerce Department. The event commenced with introduction of the college and Invictus. First year students impersonating various actresses walked on the stage to compete for the title of ‘MS. Commerce 2018’. The show included dazzling performances and a series of audience rounds and was concluded with an interactive session of teachers and the students
Annual, Inter-college, Departmental Festival, Comvictus was held on 8th February, 2019. 100 students from 30 Colleges under different Universities participated. A day long festival comprised of three events: Stratagem-gyaan do paise lo, Mind Hunters-pantheon of sharp minds and Monopoly Corner. The events were designed to hone the entrepreneurial and the competitive skills of students. Corporate sponsorship was secured from Frankfinn , Nesplus, Nescafe and other sponsors.
How to ace that interview, a professional talk was organised on 24th January, 2019 at Mata Sahib Kaur Auditorium; which was open to students of all Departments; speaker being Mr. Kumar Abhishek , founder of a reputed educational institute- Tathagat. The students were taught interview skills in a remarkably interactive session.
Ad-O-Mania, an inter-college competition, under the flagship of Saarang- the annual cultural festival of Mata Sundri College for Women, was organised on 20th February, 2019. 10 teams from different colleges across Delhi and NCR participated. Mrs. Seema Gill,Former Chief Editor ETV Bharat; MS. Pooja Mehrotra, Chief Copyeditor, Amarujala.com and Dr. Sharda Garg- Associate Professor, Mata Sundri College for Women were esteemed judges. The competition consisted of three rounds, each round accessing and examining the confidence, creativity and authenticity of the presented ideas.
An interactive talk on GST was organised on March 25, 2019. Invited speaker, CA Rajender Arora, with his engaging talk, was able to tutor around 400 students of Commerce department on intricacies of GST.
