Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board - Delhi University

ABOUT THE CENTRE

In 1943, by a Delhi University act, Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board was established, where in women students were enabled to take some of the examination of the University with special coaching but without attending regular classes. This gave shape to the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB). The Board began functioning in September, 1944 with 3 students. At present, the enrolment is more than 24,000. Only women students residing in the National capital Territory of Delhi can enroll themselves as students of the Board. NCWEB is a unique system with lectures on Sunday and academic breaks leaving students with six working days to follow their dream. In this neo–age of 100% cut-offs, class room crunch, gender discrimination, NCWEB is a welcome arrangement and a most satisfactory way to attain a degree from University of Delhi.

The NCWEB centre of Mata Sundri College was established in 1983. The NCWEB centre of Mata Sundri College is designed to cater to the needs of the undergraduate students who cannot attend regular classes. The centre conducts B.A. and B.Com. classes on Sundays and during holidays. Regular teachers of the University and College deliver these lectures. The Centre has enrolled 723 students doing B.A. Programme courses and 468 students doing B.Com. Programme courses. It has 40 faculty members from different disciplines. The college provides the same facilities to Non-Collegiate students which are being provided to regular students.
