Mata Sundri College for Women (MSC) is named after Mata Sundri Ji, an able leader of Khalsa and the consort of Guru Gobind Singh ji. She was the first transformational leader of the Sikhs who donned the leadership role in times of turmoil to guide the Khalsa. In the present times, it is imperative to equip young women with information, requisite skills, and training so that they may excel in the fields they choose and also lead empowered lives. Our objective at MSC is to shape leaders who can steer change and take up personal and professional challenges with ease. We believe in creating an academic environment geared towards excellence through a dialogic process, creating an enabling environment for teaching-learning, and promoting a culture of critical thinking. The faculty and support staff of MSC foster an inclusive environment that is culturally sensitive, promotes diversity and endorses humanism.
The college offers a wide variety of courses and the students can choose and excel in their desired stream. The state-of-art infrastructure, audio-visual interactive classrooms, sports grounds and career-oriented programmes make the college a vibrant place. The innovative teaching strategies adopted by the faculty provide students with a strong conceptual foundation along with the professional competencies that are imperative for a successful career in the corporate world. The collective effort of the faculty is to continuously raise the academic standards, disseminate values of Truth and Truthful Living and promote our diverse culture. A quality culture is accrued in all our activities which benefits the students by shaping them into individuals who develop a robust capacity for the pursuit of knowledge and have the potential of becoming empowered global citizens. We nurture a positive framework of thinking and endorse a proactive approach towards life to attain the said goals. This is our humble effort to provide a boost to higher education under the aegis of University of Delhi. The optimal utilization of institutional mechanisms and resources, enhancing teaching processes, strengthening research capacities, establishing a discovery-based learning environment for the students, ensuring psychological wellness of the youth and reaching out to the community through extension activities are my priorities to lead the institution in the knowledge-driven world.
As the Principal of the college, I seek to foster multi-stakeholder partnerships and also have a sustained engagement with them. The main stakeholders of institutions of higher learning are the students —who are in their formative years. I aim to create a conducive environment for them so that they are emboldened to embark on their new journey with confidence, competence and caliber and be successful in the present times marked by unprecedented changes. I welcome all the students entering into the portals of the college to be a part of the invigorating and energizing experience offered here. Here, they have the opportunities to develop their innate capabilities under the guidance and mentoring of proficient faculty and dedicated support staff.
