Mata Sundri Smriti Diwas
The Founder's Day, Mata Sundri Smriti Diwas was observed with reverence on 12th March.
To commemorate this day the 'Sri Akhand Path Sahib' was held on 10th March and the
'Samapti' of Sri Akhand Path Sahib took place on 12th March. This was followed by recitation
of Gurbani Kirtan by the Ragi Jatha of Bhai Kuttar Singhji as well as by the divinity society
students. Bhai Khattar Singh after reciting the Bani subsequently explained its meaning to the
Sangat. S.Harinderpal Singh – honorable member of college Governing Body and Chairman of Gurmat College addressed the students. S. R. P. Singh- Chairman, Building Committee of
College and S. Prithipal Singh- honorable member of college Governing Body graced the
occasion. This was followed by Guru ka Langar for all the students, teachers and staff
members. The college was well-lit on all three days to celebrate Founder's Day.
To promote knowledge on Mata Sundriji the Library along with Divinity Society of the
College organized a book exhibition on the 12 and 13th March, 2018 on the theme “Mata
Sundri Ji: A Gateway to Value Education”. It was an enriching experience for students and
staff many of whom were not familiar with the vast literature on Mata Sundriji.
