GUEST LECTURE

'Post-colonialisms: Studying the Notions of Pluralities and Specificities'

On 13th March 2019, guest lecturer Ms Shabeeh Rahat (Assistant Professor, Dept of English, Jamia Milia Islamia) was invited for an interactive session with third year students. Ms Rahat began the lecture with a question about Post-Colonialism and its definitions, and proceeded to discuss Edward Said’s ‘Orientalism’.

THEATRE WORKSHOP WITH MR AMBITABH SRIVASTAVA

A theatre workshop was organized spanning two days, 4-5 September, 2018 by the Dept of English with renowned theatre personality Mr. Amitabh Srivastava. After being welcomed by Dr. Suprita Jha and Dr. Kiranjeet Sethi, the event proceeded with Mr. Srivastava enlightening his audience about the history of Indian theatre.


27th March 2018

LITERARY FEST

A one- day Literary Fest was organized on 27th March, 2018. It began with a literary quiz where students from all three years participated. The quiz competition was won by Jyoti and Sukhjot from second year.


28th Sept 2017

CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP BY Dr. AMIT RANJAN

A talk was organised by the English Literary Society of Mata Sundri College, on 28th of September , in the Mata Gujri Hall. The talk entitled “The Art of Writing” was given by Dr. Amit Ranjan, a professor of English at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Dr Ranjan has written a wide variety of fiction and academic works. His creative output ranges from poems, short stories, to full length plays.

ACADEMIC MEET AND TALK BY DR. KOMAL AGARWAL

The English department of Mata Sundri College for Women had organised an academic meet on 30 August, 2017. The event was held from 11 a.m. to 1.30p.m., at Mata Gujri Hall and was well attended by English honours students from all three years.
