Cleanliness Drive - Statue cleaning drive was organised on 29th October 2021 at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, ITO. A group of 40 cadets performed the cleaning activity of the statues of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Sukhdev and Shaheed Rajguru. The activity was conducted under the Clean India initiative of the government to mark the AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV.
Saskhakt, the National Cadet Corps of Mata Sundri College conducted an online workshop on ' Significance of positive Affirmation in Life 'on 16th September 2021 from 04:00 pm onwards. The guest speaker was Dr Deepshikha Chowdhary, Deptt. Of social work, Dr.B.R. Ambedkar College, University of Delhi. The objective of the workshop was to teach the significance of positive affirmations in life. This webinar created a favourable impact not only in the cadets’ lives but also on their vision and was very fruitful.
Kargil Vijay Diwas- an online session was organised on 26th July to pay homage to the brave soldiers. Dr Col Mohinder Pal Singh, Founder and Director of AMAS Training, was the guest speaker. Students participated in poetry recitation and poster making competitions. A compilation of the cadets’ entries was displayed during the event which highlighted their creativity.
Sashakt, the NCC society of Mata Sundri College for Women celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2021 with great fervour and enthusiasm. The celebration was divided into three major events: Poster making competition, Yoga session and Quiz competition. Cadets with the best entries were highlighted and the quiz tested their knowledge of Yoga and its various aspects.
A Cancer Awareness Campaign was organized by ‘Sashakt’ the NCC of Mata Sundri College to spread awareness about this malady among the masses. Cadets resorted to public speaking to throw some light on the disease’s various types. A poster making competition, a rally and a ‘Nukkad Natak’ were the highlights of this campaign. Passers-by participated with great enthusiasm too and got their queries answered.
A cleanliness drive was carried out by the NCC cadets of Mata Sundri College at their adopted statue in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, ITO. The activity was conducted on March 3, 2021. Cadets cleaned and garlanded the statues of Shaheed Sukhdev, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Shaheed Rajguru. They also cleaned the surrounding areas of the park while maintaining the Covid-19 protocol.
Around 30 cadets from Sashakt participated in the Handwash Day initiative in the college premises on 11 December 2020. Cadets participated in a poster making competition highlighting and promoting the benefits of washing hands. The competition was followed by an interesting Nukkad Natak which threw some light on the right handwash patterns and how it may help in killing disease-causing germs and bacteria.
Cadets of Mata Sundri College participated on behalf of 2DGBn in the Yamuna Swachhta Abhiyan on Nov 18 2020. The Covid-19 protocol was followed and the event was conducted from Wazirabad to Okhla. Excessive and unhindered sewage dumps and littering have deteriorated the condition of the river. NCC cadets joined hands to spread awareness and led by example as they cleaned the banks of the Yamuna River.
Pandemic didn’t stop the Sashakt cadets from meeting their fitness goals. Every cadet covered above 3 KMs of distance run each day and uploaded pictures and videos for the same from August 26, 2020, to October 3, 2020. The activity was conducted under the Fit India Campaign initiative of the Indian Govt. Cadets also encouraged and motivated their neighbours to engage in physical activities by citing the benefits while following the Covid-19 protocol.
The cadets of Mata Sundri College engaged in a home plantation drive on July 13, 2020, where students planted various tree saplings in and around their locality. The aim of the event was to promote sapling plantation and spread awareness about the varieties of flora among the cadets. Cadets uploaded various images of the plantation and encouraged their neighbours to engage in the activity as well.
An International Webinar on Emotional Well-being was organized by Sashakt on May 23, 2020. The panellists and speakers were Dr Jaya Mohan, Dr Laxmi Budhwar, Lt Col S. Sukhwinder Singh Sodhi and Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Principal Mata Sundri College. The talk gave a new perspective to the young students and boosted their morale .
A webinar on ‘Success Through Teamwork’ was organized by Sashakt on May 04, 2020. The guest speaker was Dr Col M. P. Singh, Founder and Director of AMAS Training, Greater Noida. Over 250 students participated in the webinar thus highlighting the enthusiasm of the students. Being a retired army officer himself, Col Singh imparted valuable lessons on teamwork, leadership and coordination.
NCC Yogdan Exercise was organized by 2DGBN, NCC Bhawan Rohini, when COVID-19 pandemic held its clutches all over the world. NCC cadets declared to contribute to their nation and help its people amidst an hour of need. An exercise was launched by the Director General of National Cadet Corps named “EXERCISE NCC YOGDAN”. The exercise was started on 7th April 2020. 23 Cadets from “Mata Sundri College for Women” too participated in this exercise. Out of whom two cadets, Khushi from 1st year and Kanika Suryavanshi from 2nd year were allotted duties in North-east Delhi. Activities observed by our National Cadet Corps: . Distributing of masks . Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated on 16th December 2019 in the college premises. Cadet's performed a nukkad natak and a lecture was also organised to pay homage to the brave soldiers. The event inculcated in the cadets the feeling of patriotism and dedication towards the country. Cadets also got to know about India’s historic win in the Kargil War.
An interactive talk on Leadership and Personality development was held on 31st October 2019 at Mata Gujri Hall by Ms. Gurvinder Kaur (CTO). The main areas which were covered in this programme were:- how to be a good leader and how to cultivate leadership skills.
Anaemia Camp was organised by NCC in collaboration with Team Enactus on 20th September 2019 in the college which emphasised the causes, symptoms and treatments of anaemia. 864 students participated in the camp including cadets, who also got themselves checked by doctors for the same. The staff and students participated with great enthusiasm in the camp. A guest speaker was invited to throw some light and spread awareness on the condition.
Under SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN, National Cadet Corps of Mata Sundri College for Women organized a Training session, which was Conducted by S. KP SINGH (Environmentalist and Solution Architect at IBM) on FREEDOM FROM WASTE WOES on July 26, 2019. Mr K P Singh explained the issue of waste woes using his well prepared and enticing presentation and his powerful words.
World Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2019 in the Tutorial Hall of the college. Yoga was performed by faculty, admin and students under the supervision of Ms. Deepanjali Pandey. 130 participants enthusiastically participated in the Yoga session.
World Anti-Child Labour Day was observed on 12 June 2019 in the tutorial hall of the college. Cadets participated in a poster making competition to spread awareness about child labour. The creativity of the students was highlighted as was their firm resolve against child abuse and labour in society. Principal ma’am attended the poster-making session and motivated them with her encouraging words.
