STUDENTS' ACHIEVEMENTS

    2021-22

  • Three students presented papers in the World Women Conference-IV on March 8th and 9th, 2022 organised by Mata Sundri College for Women in collaboration with Institute of Economic Development and Social Researches, Turkey, online through Zoom meet. Ms Ananya and Ms Shubhanshi, together presented a paper entitled 'Revisiting Mughal Harems' and Ms Anushree Bisht presented 'Female voices in the Bhakti Movement’.
  • Ms Aditi Ghosh of 3rd year BA Programme presented a lecture online at Shyamlal College Evening, University of Delhi on the topic, 'Vikramshila: A Forgotten Saga' under the aegis of their online student platform - Graduate Scholars Talk Series (GSTS 71) on 19th June 2022 on Google Meet.   • College Heritage Volunteer Workshop- INTACH 2022 - On 15 March 2022, INTACH, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Delhi Chapter conducted a College Heritage Volunteer Workshop. A total of eight colleges from University of Delhi took part in this workshop. Our college, Mata Sundri College for Women was also a part of this insightful workshop. A group of final year students of B.A. History Honours, Anushree Bisht, Mansi Malik, Muskan Sharma, and Renu Bala attended the workshop along with Ms. Divya Surana, a faculty member of the Department of History.
  • Ms Anshu Som of 3rd year History Honours is part of SASHAKT- MSC NCC COY. She has represented India in the greatest NCC event as a Youth Ambassador of NCC INDIA. She was part of Delhi Contingent and piloted our honourable Prime Minister and Defence Minister in their rallies respectively on Republic Day 2021. She has represented India in E- YEP SINGAPORE which was held in November 2021.
  • Ms Anupama Malik of 3rd year History Honours won the consolation prize in the paper presentation programme called the ‘Shahid Utsav 2021’ organised by Freedom Fighter Cell of Delhi Government on 27th September 2021. She spoke on the topic 'क्या भगत सिंह नास्तिक थे या नहीं'
  • Ms Ananya of 3rd year History Honours presented a lecture online at Shyamlal College Evening, University of Delhi on the topic, ‘WEB OF INDIAN FLORA AND FAUNA’, under the aegis of their online student platform - GRADUATES SCHOLARS TALK SERIES (GSTS 34) on 3rd October on Google Meet. 2019-20 - INTACH WORKSHOP

  • A group of six students along with a faculty participated the INTACHHECS Workshops on 17th January 2020. The workshop introduces the students and faculties to the multifaceted aspects of conservation, preservation and restoration through lectures, visit to the conservation labs, heritage walks and interactive sessions so that they understand the importance of safeguarding heritage. These workshops guide and encourages them how they can contribute to this extremely relevant cause. The six students who had attended the workshop with Dr Simmi Kapoor Mehta were.

  • Muskan Sachdeva, BA Honours 3rd Year (Batch 2017-2020), presented a paper in March 2020 at Indraprastha College, University of Delhi on the topic ‘Sufism: A movement of love in orthodox era’.

2017-18- INTACH WORKSHOP

  • On 16th January, 2018, a workshop was organised by INTACH, which was attended by 6 students along with Faculty member, Dr Daljit Kaur. The seminar provided a rich experience and enhance our knowledge about various conservation and preservation techniques used on various articles such as paintings, clothes etc. The delightful walk in Lodhi Garden with Dr Swapna Liddle, with such imminent person sharing her knowledge with us was an unforgettable experience.     FOOD DAY-

  • Further, as Heritage at its root level is passed onto us from our families and can include traditional food, dresses etc. Such intangible heritage can tell us a lot about the culture of any country. An initiative was taken by our students. A ‘Food Day’ was celebrated on 24th February 2018 in which second year honours students prepared and brought a traditional dish of their state. Other students of the department and faculty were invited to join them.
  • PAPER PRESENTATION-

  • Priyanka Gupta of 3rd year History Honours had participated in the Annual Students Seminar at Jesus and Mary College on the topic `Oral History: Challenges and Prospects'. Her paper was titled “Unheard Voices: Folklores of Tribal Communities” in 2018.
  • QUIZ-

  • Shikha, 3rd year History Honours came third along with her teammate Ruchi of Philosophy Honours in Inter-College GK Quiz held during Saarang 2018.
