Computer science is an inter-disciplinary field having roots in Mathematics and Physics. It is the most sought-after course with focus on latest application-based and job-oriented subjects. Curriculum of the course covers both theory and practice related to computers and computational systems, with lots of hands-on practical. Main subjects covered within the course range from problem solving using programming languages to software development , understanding communication systems and its security, database systems and upcoming areas like data science, machine learning to name few. To conclude, it provides a firm foundation to students to quickly adapt to this challenging field which has affected every aspect of our lives in current digital age.
CYBERNAUTS THE TECH- SOCIETY of Department of Computer Science of Mata Sundri College for Women Organises both National and International Events.Some of the Recent Events included CAREER COUNSELING SESSION, CONNECTIN SEMINAR, BIOMETRIC TALK/SEMINAR And TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION.
The students are required to attend not less than 68% of the lectures, theory and practicum courses, separately during each semester in order to enable them to appear for university examinations.
A continuous process of internal assessment takes place during each semester that includes theory as well as practicum courses. The assessing procedures usually include written assignments, projects, house exam and presentations. Final examinations are held in the month of November and May.
It is mandatory for a student to secure minimum 40% marks in each theory paper during final examinations, 40% in the internal assessment, 40% in all Practicum courses taken together and 40% in the aggregate for each semester, to pass the examination.
