FAREWELL 2024

The Department of Psychology, Mata Sundri College for Women organised Farewell 2024 for the third year students of B.A. Hons. Psychology and B.A. Prog. Psychology on Thursday, 9th May 2024. The atmosphere was filled with celebration as our seniors, dressed in beautiful sarees, enjoyed the occasion. All the faculty members were present and the event took place in class room 326. The number of students present were 130.


6th to 10th May 2024

WALL PAINTING BY 3RD YEAR STUDENTS (BATCH OF 2024)

The 3rd year students of B.A. Psychology Honors made a wall painting next to the staff-room, over the course of their last week (6th to 10th May, 2024) in the Department, before graduating. The initiative was led by a few students who made the rough layout and prepared the painting of the entire tree, over multiple days, and the entire batch used their hand imprints to adorn the branches of the tree, writing their names near their imprints, leaving behind a legacy.

BODY POSITIVITY AND EMPOWERMENT

The PB&J Club met online on May 4th, 2024, with 22 individuals, mainly first-year and third-year students. They gathered to discuss International No Diet Day, promoting body positivity and healthy relationships with food while challenging societal norms tied to body size or weight.

NATIONAL AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH SESSION

This is to bring to your kind notice that the PB&J club conducted its session on 27th April 2024. This session was in an online format. The session was scheduled in lieu of the ‘National Autism Acceptance’ month. An interactive session was conducted on Nuances of Autism.An engaging interactive discussion on the nuances of autism took place during the event. The session was attended by 17 students in the psychology department.

SESSION ON NAVIGATING FEMINISM IN THE DIGITAL AGE

Navigating contemporary feminism in digital age- “Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” PB&J club conducted its eighth session on 23rd March 2024. This session was in online format and the topic was ‘Navigating contemporary feminism in digital age’.

SESSION ON UPCOMING CUET PG EXAM

A guidance session was organized for undergraduate and graduate students in the Psychology department to prepare them for their upcoming CUET PG exams. During the session, students were provided with valuable advice on what to do and what to avoid. The purpose of this program was to equip students with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their exams.

POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

The Psychology Department held an invigorating poster-making competition on the theme "The Importance of Psychological Well-being #Viksit Bharat," spotlighting the pivotal role of mental health in the envisioned developed India. This event served as a vibrant platform for students to amalgamate creativity with psychological insights, emphasizing holistic wellbeing as an important aspect for the nation's progress.

"TOXIC TIES: BREAKING CHAINS , BUILDING BOUNDARIES"

The PB&J club conducted its session on 17th February 2024. This session was in an online format and the topic was on Toxic ties: Breaking chains,building boundaries. The students were briefed about the case through the poster and notice and were then shown a video before starting the discussion to gain more insight and knowledge regarding teen dating violence.

"GYM AS A REPLACEMENT OF THERAPY"

The PB&J club conducted the first session on 27th January 2024. This session was in an online format and the topic was on Gym as a replacement of therapy. The students were shown a video on effects of physical health on mental well-being before starting the discussion to gain more insight and knowledge regarding the topic. Interesting remarks were made throughout the discussion.

DANK MEMES AND US

A session on "Dank Memes and Us" was held on 25th November, 2023 . Two memes were presented, vividly depicting the severity of their insensitivity, prompting a closer examination of their impact. A video featuring public figure Matt Rife was displayed, sparking conversation and analysis of its content and implications. The session was attended by 10-15 Participants .
