Career Prospects for Teacher Interns and Guidelines from NEP 2020

The department of Elementary Education organised a career-oriented counselling session for final-year students on September 27, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. The resource person for the session was Dr. Mona Sedwal (Assistant Professor, NIEPA). The session began with a welcome note by co-convenor Ms. Divya Sharma (Assistant Professor, MSC), who introduced the students to the speaker and the objective of the session. The session was attended by 40 students.

Online Webinar-Career Based Counselling Sessions on the theme ‘Different Career Options after B.El.Ed’ on 28th June 2021 for the students of B. El. Ed. IV year and alumnae of the Department. All the speakers were the distinguished alumnae of B.El.Ed. department who discussed the career opportunities in their respective fields and the challenges involved with it.

Talk and Workshop on- "Working in collaboration and Placement in Schools"

Placement Cell of the department organised a Talk and workshop on the theme ‘Working in collaboration and Placement in Schools’ on 7th April 2021 for B.El.Ed. IV year students . The workshop was conducted for students so that they can learn to work in collaboration with the team in any organisation or a school . They were also told about the triangle of partnership between the school, teachers and the parents.

Online Talk on "Work Ethics in School"

The placement cell of B.El.Ed. organized an online talk on Work Ethics in school on 17th March 2021 for B.El.Ed. IV year students as one of their Career Oriented counseling sessions. The objective of this workshop was to enlighten the students about Work Ethics in school. Speaker focused on how one should work in school, teachers’ behaviour with colleagues and children.

Online Workshop – "Art Integrated learning"

B.El.Ed. Department Placement Cell organised an Online Workshop on ‘Art Integrated learning’ on Tuesday, 9th February 2021 for students of B.El.Ed. III and IV year. The objective of this workshop is to enlighten the students about how Art can be integrated in the learning process with the students. Resource persons told the students what all mediums can be used and the various art forms used by the teacher.

WORKSHOP RESUME MAKING

Placement Cell of the Department of Elementary Education organised an online talk and workshop on- Placement in Schools and Resume making on 13th January 2021. The workshop was conducted for B.EL.Ed. IV-year students so that they can work on making their resume and preparing them for the interview. Also what type of questions are asked in the interview, how to prepare for Demo classes etc was discussed.

ORIENTATIONS SESSION BY PLACEMENT CELL AT B.EL.ED. (2019-2020)

An orientation for school based placement at Bharat National Public School and skill required for resume making by Ms. Shalini Joshi (Placement Coordinator at BNPS) was held on 22nd January, 2020. The objective of the session was to make students aware about the skills required to make the resume and orient the students about the job opportunities for various subjects in the school.

CAREER COUNSELING AND ORIENTATIONS BY B.EL.ED. PLACEMENT CELL (2018-19)

Department organised a workshop by the ‘Books for All’ initiative by Guzarish, a Delhi-based NGO for B.El.Ed. III & IV year students was held on February 27th , 2019. The session aimed at giving exposure to mission, vision of the organization and then provided them various options about placement and internship with them. Another workshop by ‘Safe Campus’ initiative by a Delhi-based NGO was held on March 11, 2019 for B.El.Ed. IV year students. They oriented our students about the placement opportunities with the organization.

The placement committee of B.El.Ed. Department organized a series of activities for the IV year students. These included orientation to higher education, campus recruiting, resume writing, workshop for preparation of professional life by different organisations like BNPS, Peepul/Ark and AUD, Delhi.

B.El.Ed. Placement cell actively organized different sessions for career counseling and orientations of final year students for higher education partnering with institutions like Bharat National Public Public School, Delhi and Ambedkar University, Delhi.
