The Political Science department of Mata Sundri College organized a visit to the Indian Social Institute for the 1st-year batch. The visit took place on July 6, 2023, and was led and coordinated by faculty of Political Science, Dr. Rachna Kumari Prasad.

'Sambal' which means support is an initiative taken up by the Department of political science with a view to help hindi medium students from the Department. Every semester 4 - 5 sessions are held . Though the mode of the teaching in the department is bilingual ,yet over the years we have found that there many hindi medium students do face some problem and hesitate to speak during their classes.

A book discussion on the recently published book “Region, Religion and Politics: 100 Years of Shiromani Akali Dal”, by Prof. A.S. Narang (Former Professor of IGNOU), was organised by Polimates, the Political Science Department, Mata Sundari College for Women, University of Delhi, in collaboration with IQAC. It was held on 12 th April 2023 in Mata Gujri Hall, at 12:30 p.m., on the occasion of 100 years completion of Shiromani Akali Dal.

The Department of Political Science and Motivation to Master's Cell under the Aegis of IQAC organized an "Interactive Session" on the topic of "Academic Progression To M.A." on 9th April 2023. This is an Online session conducted on Zoom at 4:00 pm. The speaker of the session is Ms. Poojita Goswami. Ms. Poonam Sharma is the Teacher-in-charge of the session.

The sambal society of the political science department are mainly for the benefit of Hindi medium students through group discussions and paper presentations. The first sambal event for 2 nd year students was organised on 27th January,2023 from 11:00am onwards by the department of political science in Room number 308 of college.

The Department of Political Science organized a field visit to the Indian Parliament on 19 January 2023. The very insightful visit was organized for the third-year undergraduate students. Students assembled in the college premises and a total of forty-nine students with five staff members went together to the Parliament using the college bus.

‘Pratibimb’ film society of Mata Sundri College for Women (DU) held the screening of the Movie ‘Manthan’ (1976), directed by Shyam Benegal, in collaboration with ‘Cinemates’, the film society of Political Science Department on 15th December 2022 in the Mata Sahib Kaur Auditorium from 1pm onwards. It was an Inter-departmental event and teachers and students from all across the departments were invited for the screening.

The Political Science Department organized an academic visit to CSDS for its first year students for Skill Enhancement course for the paper Political Leadership and Communication in order to acquaint them with the practical perspective of this paper with empirical understanding of the concept of political communication.

Mentoring is a relationship, a journey between the mentor and the mentee on the road to success at college. I, myself, arranged a session of peer mentoring 3rd sem students in Political Science under the guidance of Dr.Khushboo Verma. The e poster was shared in advance.

The peer mentoring session was conducted on October 17th 2022, Monday by the mentor; Bhakti, BA Programme 5th Semester in online mode with everyone's comfortable timings which was in the evening at 7. In collaboration with the Library Progression Committee, the Department of Political Science and the Department of Economics conducted an offline workshop on " Research for Beginners" on September 30th, 2022 at 12:15pm. This workshop aimed to guide students in writing and developing research papers.

The peer mentoring session was held by me (Rishita Narang) on 29 September 2022 in online mode via Google meet the topic chosen by 2 year students i.e. my junior took the topic the parliamentary system of Indiafor the mentoring the class was took as per the schedule time 7 to 8 pm. It was a 1 hr interactive session.
